Jonathan V.
Private tutor in Evanston, IL
Education
Junior Anthropology Major and Health & Society Minor at Beloit College, GPA: 3.3, 2011
Experience
I was a Spanish tutor for two years during high school at Evanston Township through a college-preparatory program. I also volunteered tutoring Spanish at a junior high school in the city of Beloit my freshman year in college. I would like to be a tutor because I believe one-on-one interactions with people is the most focused, engaging, and helpful method to teach someone an academic subject. I also believe I have successfully helped people I've tutored in the past, and I hope to provide that assistance for those who need it in the future. Moreover, understanding Spanish will be resourceful in the workforce, so it would be a great pleasure to improve peoples' language abilities in a tutoring setting.

Hobbies
I love interacting with people, either in a professional or private setting. More specifically, I enjoy good conversation and building healthy relationships. Over the past years with my experience being a camp counselor, Resident Assistant, international English teacher, and a Spanish tutor, they have certainly helped develop my leadership capabilities and taught me a great deal of patience. In addition, gaining these life skills has offered me a well-rounded outlook on differing child and adolescent behavior, as well as how to approach those circumstances within the right setting. As for other hobbies/interests, I am an ultimate frisbee enthusiast, I enjoy riding my bike, and am an avid reader.
