Hobbies

Hello, my name is Melany and I am 20 years old. I'm currently an au pair in Evanston and I am from Italy. Being an au pair is a fantastic experience: I am a kind of nanny, who takes care of a child every day for 45 hours a week. We don't only play, I am also teaching him Italian and he is improving a lot. For this reason I decided to be an Italian tutor. I discovered a real passion in teaching and I feel that I can give a lot to my students, teaching them not only the language, but also customs and lifestyle of Italy. I used to be a tutor in high school: I taught History, Italian, Business, English and German and I was so happy when the people I helped were having big results. I have great passion and I am sure that you will find not only a tutor, but also a friend. I can work with children and adults as well. I was a very good student during high school and I graduated with high marks: I liked to study following a very rigid discipline, but I prefer to teach giving also moments of fun: when I'm teaching Italian to the child who I am taking care of, I always prepare new games and new ways to help him learn. Sometimes we also sing Italian songs and we translate them in English, so he can understand better. He is only four years old, so he is a little young to start learning grammar and syntax. Grammar is the basis to learn Italian, because this language has a very particular one, especially with verbs, but don't be scared: we can start slow! I usually assign homework after my classes, so we can discuss them together and I can have the material to provide progress report. I really want my lessons to be high standard, so I usually ask my students or their parents to give me some feedback so I can improve the level of the lessons; if someone is not satisfied and thinks I didn't do a good job, I don't bill the lesson. I'm looking forward to talking with you and answer your questions! If you want a young Italian tutor for you or for your children don't hesitate, contact me! We can organize a schedule together that can fit both you and me.
