Private tutor in Evanston, IL
Education
PhD in Neuroscience from Northwestern University (2012), BS in Psychobiology from University of Evansville, Honors Program, summa cum laude (2007)
Experience
I've tutored in high school to help others prepare for the ACT. Served as a teacher' aid in Algebra 2 (high school), Statistics, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry (undergrad), Cell Biology, and Physiology (graduate). I've taken part in several programs at Northwestern focusing on integrating student-centered learning into undergraduate classrooms. Additionally, I've taken part in re-designing the introductory Cell Biology course offered at Northwestern University. My career goal is to teach undergraduate courses and run a small lab. Teaching has been a passion since high school when I would help my friends learn class materials. I want to teach as much as possible while working on my postdoctoral research. Tutoring provides that opportunity.

Hobbies
I have a great sense of humor. Despite my extensive education, I've avoided becoming an egghead and can still relate to all types of people. My hobbies center around music, which helps me learn to listen to others. Playing music, like teaching, requires effective communication in both directions.
