Haverford College, 2012, B.S. in chemistry and physics (double major). Graduated summa cum laude with high honors in both chemistry and physics and a 3.96 GPA. University of California at Berkeley, 2017, Ph.D. in physical chemistry. I performed research on solar energy conversion.
Experience
I served as an individual tutor for introductory college level physics, chemistry, and calculus classes while an undergraduate student myself. As a graduate student, I was a TA for multiple introductory chemistry and upper level physical chemistry classes. These positions often involved running 20 student discussion sections and being available for office hours. I had the opportunity to work with many students one on one or in small groups during these office hours. During graduate school, I also spent four semesters as a math instructor at a prison, teaching elementary algebra. I taught one class a week, and sometimes held office hours. For two of these semesters, I was the lead instructor for the course. After graduate school, I spent the summer of 2017 as the head instructor for an introductory chemistry course. I was therefore responsible for the design of the course, from the syllabus to daily lesson plans. I have always enjoyed my teaching experiences, and hope to be a college professor some day.
